Golf Club Schladming - Dachstein

The pebble beach of the Alps

Lush, green alpine valleys and magnificent mountain peaks - this is golf in the Schladming-Dachstein holiday region.

The golf course, which was designed by Bernhard Langer and opened in 1991, is located between Schladming and Haus, embedded in the beautiful alpine mountain landscape of the Upper Styrian Ennstal. The beautifully landscaped golf course is a golfing highlight in the Alps that leaves nothing to be desired. But although the course is considered demanding, it allows players of all handicap groups to experience success and a nice game.
Unique to an Alpine golf course are the Florida flair and the long season, from the first days of spring to late fall.
Nature and landscape are always present in the most beautiful shapes and colors around the fairway, tees and greens. This gives the sporting challenge a perfect setting. The ambience and service of the clubhouse, art & golf, experienced greenkeepers and the competence when it comes to the organization of tournaments, especially the quality of international tournaments, leave nothing to be desired.

Sporty variety, culinary delights, warm hosts and a breathtaking natural backdrop await you on your top-class golf holiday in the Schladming Dachstein region.

Characteristics of the golf course

"An adventure for the eyes, compensated and soothed" - this is how the 2-fold major winner Bernhard Langer, who designed the Dachstein-Tauern golf course in Schladming, expresses it. The course, which is a member of the Leading Golf Courses, is also affectionately called "Pebble Beach of the Alps" and can be classified as "premium" in every respect.

The clubhouse is a feast for the eyes and the golf course is one of my absolute favorite places in Austria due to the abundance of water (11 of 18 holes), 56 sand bunkers and the perfectly laid out greens. Experience and enjoy a round of top-class golf on 18 fabulous fairways.

Hole 1 - 9

The fairways 1 - 4 are designed so that players in each handicap group can have a golfing sense of achievement right from the start. Relatively short fairways without large obstacles allow a good starting score. From the 5th lane it slowly becomes more difficult. Water hazards in the green area and large bunkers with gleaming white quartz sand are more reminiscent of Florida than the Alps. The mighty Dachstein massif will only bring you back to the original Austrian mountain landscape if you take the time and look out over the facility.
There is also hole 6, an absolute "eye catcher", a 149m long par 3, over water and beach bunker on a great green. A sight which can be called up again and again in long-term memory. The Schladming "Amen - Corner" begins with the 7th lift. A hard par 4, followed by a 200m par 3 over water, the so-called "Crocodile Hole", and fairway 9, the longest par 4 with handicap 1, a real score breaker.
The green is on the water and the flag can have great positions.

Hole 10 - 18

With hole 10, another long par 4, you have passed the "Amen Corner". Anyone who is still good now has a good chance of a great score. With the 11, 12 and 13 there is finally something to breathe deeply.
The 14, Par 4 with default 3 and the 15, Par 3 with default 7 are again waterholes, which demand a full again.
The 16 and 17 allow you to improve your score for the last time, with the 17, a par 3 with biotope water (known as the Duck Hole), a highlight for "pure nature" lovers. Now for the 18th, a real match play - final hole. The par 5 with island green demands full concentration at the end. Everything is possible, from the eagle to the line. However, the look of the island green offers a real "eye adventure".
On the terrace of the 19. Lochs, you know it for sure, you played the "Pebble Beach of the Alps".

Under new, but gastronomically experienced management, the "KostPar" golf restaurant made a good new start in 2017. Enjoy the wonderful ambience of the terrace and let the team around Kathi and Flo spoil you with a range of fine traditional or international dishes. You will be served selected wines from Austria to go with it. A wonderful end to a beautiful day of golf.
