golf club Kitzbühel Alps Westendorf
The Golfclub Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf is the new golf jewel in the beautiful natural landscape of the Kitzbühel area! Away from major tourist routes, the 2014 opened 18-Loch golf course is located on the beautiful sunny plateau of Westendorf. The most recent golf course in the region with a total length of 5.882m (Par 72) impresses above all by its extremely quiet location and the Scandinavian flair. Embedded in the 64 hectares of natural landscape, this championship golf course was awarded a four-star Superior Award by the Federal Association for Golf Courses in spring 2015. Protected in the north by the imposing Hohe Salve, the flat and easily walkable course offers not only sporting challenges but also unforgettable panoramic views of the Tyrolean mountains.
One thing in advance, the golf club Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf with its 5920 meters par 72, not only integrates perfectly into the given landscape, but also impresses with the refined course design by Diethard Fahrenleitner. If you are not really 100% convinced of your drives, you should not play this beautiful course too aggressively. Narrow fairways, lots of doglegs and some very well defended greens make this course a real challenge for everyone. Personally, I was absolutely thrilled about the perfectly maintained condition of the course and am looking forward to my next round in Westendorf.
We start on hole 1 with a very short par 4, which, depending on your handicap, you can also attack with the tee, or you put a 7 iron in front. Hole 2 is a 185 meter par 3, with a very undulating, large green. Hole 3 is a 450 meter par 5 that, if the tee is placed on the left, can be attacked with stroke two. However, you should NOT cross the green, OUT of bounds! This is followed by a shorter par 4 and a par 3. Hole 6 is again a par 5 that long hitters can attack with two strokes when the tee is on the left fairway. Hole 7 is a short par 3. Hole 8 is followed by a par 5 with over 500 meters. If you play along the course, the par should not be a problem. Back towards the clubhouse comes hole 9, a long, interesting par 4 where the tee should be on the left of the fairway. The green is defended here by water on both sides. A par here is a nice success.
After a little refreshment, it goes on to hole 10 with a par 3 that is defended by a very large bunker on the left. We continue to hole 11, another par 5. Long hitters can also take short cuts here. If they hit a long fade towards the last fairway bunker, you can reach the green with two strokes. Hole 12 is a par 4, just like hole 13 (par 4) you play along the fairway without risk. This is followed by a very interesting par 4 hole 14. Dogleg right into a very narrow forest aisle. After a perfect tee shot, the second shot is a real challenge. The green runs along the forest and hangs down slightly to the left. Thank you for the par. Hole 15 a short par 3. Holes 16 and 17 are two par 4s that can be played without major difficulties. The par 5 18 is a wonderful final hole. Place the tee shot to the right of the fairway bunker and continue playing defensively and then maybe get a birdie chance with the third shot over the water.
Enjoy the end of your round of golf with culinary delicacies in the Windau Lounge with a direct view of the green of the nine and eighteen. The year-round restaurant spoils you with high-quality, regional products from the area, which are prepared with an international flair or simply, traditionally down-to-earth. The excellently selected wines on the wine list will cheer your palate. What was impressive for me was the mix between modern and traditional, which worked perfectly in the Windau Lounge. Visit David Hellebart and his team, enjoy the wonderful view of the surrounding Kitzbühel Alps, you will not regret it.
